Best Time to Visit Mauritius

Summer Season : November to April

Summers are from November to April and the Mauritius weather is hot and humid during the summer period, you can expect a rise in temperature in the months of December, January and February. Rainfall is abundant, especially on the central plateau of Mauritius. The highest rainfall normally occurs in the months of February and March. Daylight hours typically run from 5.30am to 7.00pm. The temperature in Mauritius can get up to 33 degree Celsius while remaining 25 degree Celsius at its minimum.

This is the best time for those who enjoy water sports like scuba diving, deep-sea fishing, snorkeling and even get to marvel at the  marine life by swimming with the dolphins as well as diving around coral reefs. Do not forget to pack your swimsuit and a light jacket.



Winter: May to October

If travelling in winter is what you love doing, the winter season in Mauritius is from May to October when cooler temperatures are from 22ºC on the coast and 19ºC in the central regions. The coldest month of the year is in July, with temperatures of approximately 20ºC-21ºC. During the winter months, the winds tend to be strong in the east and southeastern parts of the island, but there is not much rainfall during that time. Winter is the best time for surfing, hiking, cycling and quad biking.

Sea Temperatures

Sea temperatures are mostly fine throughout the year ranging from 26° C in summer to 25° C in winter. The sea temperatures in Mauritius rise in the range of 28 to 29°C during the beginning of February and are at their lowest during August. The excellent sea conditions are the result of the coral reef surrounding the beautiful island. The beautiful coral reefs also make it a great destination to learn to dive and to enjoy many water sports.

    You really tempted me right now. Mauritius looks so beautiful, but will it beats Swiss? I have been to switzerland and Im loving it. I would say, the difference is that Swiss does not have sea, while Mauritius is an island.
